Spotlight On Von Fitz Design
Happy April, one day belatedly.
It doesn’t ever feel like Spring to me until April arrives, at which point I get irrationally angry when the weather decides to project anything other than springtime bliss.
I digress. These spaces, designed by Maria von Hartz and Annie Fitzgerald of Von Fitz Design, with their neutral bases (white walls, sheepskin rugs, twiggy elements) punctuated with doses of strong textures and colors throughout seem to me to channel the essence of spring rawther fittingly.
Like take this living space, for example.
It’s restrained base is balanced out by warm, fuzzy throws and that cheery pop of red. You know, it’s like the snow is melting, the things are growing, and I’m going to stop with the seasonal metaphor now so I can properly gush: 1. the wall paneling and 2. the fireplace tiling.
This next room is sort of the inverted version of the previous, with lighter accents seeming to stand against the backdrop of that blue grasscloth wall.
And the reading nook below is damn near preppy (spring in full bloom) with its complimentary color scheme happening.
This mirror reminds me of a cinema marquee and I’m enjoying that immensely.
At this point the Von Fitz repertoire takes a turn toward glamortown–ogle that coffee table would you?
Not to mention this light fixture which compliments the modest bar area down yonder, recalling as it does the clahw-siest glass decanters.
Next in the tour comes three winning baths.
Not to be outdone, a laundry room with all the essentials, including rolling hampers, proper hanging space, and a bonus fold-out drying rack.
And to enjoy the spring days and soon the summer nights, this:
Lovely, all, isn’t it?
