Spotlight On Landing Design (The Redux)
It’s Thursday again, funnily enough, and to accompany that re-run, I give you one from Landing Design.
I featured them way back in the 13th year of 2000, and a recent check-in with their portfolio proves they’ve been designing their pants off all this time.
Run by the precocious Tyler Karu, whose about page claims she mastered blueprint-reading before she mastered french kissing (it mentions nothing of snogging, that’s all me), Landing Design renovates, builds new construction and then decorates them to within an inch of their granny-gone-nautical life.
Her work has the storied air of antiques and obscure objects seemingly rescued from the flee market of some coastal town, while tongue-in-cheek efforts to turn the old into new (like the vintage prints that appear to have been drawn-over with highlighters by a bored and slightly mischievous child) make the spaces feel fresh and light.
It’s quite good, wouldn’t we agree?
‘Til Monday then, you…you.
