There’s something particularly fascinating about how various professionals provide for themselves. Like what a dentist does for his own teeth. Or, how an organizer keeps her own space neat (ahem). Or, what results when the designer of hip restaurants weds a builder, has a baby or three, and the duo sets out to create their perfect family home. That one sounds most intriguing of the three, so let’s go with that, shall we?

The designer in question in Tanya Krpan, and suffice it to say that with her family’s home, she’s decidedly proven her ability to design trendy spaces that feel nonetheless timeless and even rawther cozy, be them popular eateries or private quarters.

The secret to her sauce, I think, comes down to the layering. Playing opposite the sleek marble and clean white walls are elements that inject a certain human element, a casual air, and a comfortable attitude.

Naturally, lady Tanya did have something to prove in her kitchen. I mean, if you earn your living by designing environments that revolve around the preparation and partaking in food, you should well be able to create a family kitchen.

I suspect you’ll agree with the claim that in this endeavor, she did indeed succeed.
