Product Review: Easy Fold Step Stool

May 14, 2013

I’m 5′ 2″ on a good day (how much do you loathe that joke–isn’t it the worst?) which essentially means that I spend my life trying to reach things I’m not tall enough to get to, standing on my tippy toes, climbing up on my kitchen counters to reach the glasses like I did circa year 7.

But then my leg went on strike, preventing both the tip-toe approach and the un-ladylike counter-climbing. So I was all, “That’s it. I’ma get me a stool.”

So I jumped (hobbled in the most unattractive, tragic way) into the car and drove myself to the organizer store, where I picked up this little step stool for a measly $12. (Oh, those? Just my cheesy pizza socks; don’t you know a birthday present when you see it?)

And do you know what? Do you know the number of times since I brought that thing home that it has come in handy? Do you think I haven’t yet gotten into the habit of knowing it’s around, and have thus on several occasions found myself puzzling, “Now, how the hell am I going to reach that?” only to remember it’s there, pull it over and climb aboard all happy clucking noises and easy reaching? Do you think that delight has only waxed with each recollection of stool-ownership? IT SURE HAS!

Listen: this stool is easy. It’s small, it’s lightweight, it folds up to barely visible, and it has a handle. Admittedly, it does only provide one step up, but when one is all you happen to need, it’s just the thing. Go get one of your own, splurge on the thing. They come in every color of the rainbow.

(It’s available through The Container Store: Easy Fold Step Stool, as well as on Amazon: Easy Fold Step Stool)

*Disclaimer: I spent my own monies on this and nobody asked me to post about it and I just felt like it on my own so I did. Sometimes I do that.

I’m also 5′ 2″, or so, and have this same stool. I got mine at TJ Maxx / Home goods. They always have them. I think I paid $ 7.99. Love your site!

Hey Annie! I am 5’10”, and even I need to use mine!! I got one months ago, since my short sister-in-law uses hers in the kitchen daily…and it holds me! Love it! Now, if I ever had a place with room to move around, the Kik-Step stool which rolls until you step on it…… LOVE that one!! Used to use them when I worked my first job, at the library!
