Spotlight On McGrath II
Let’s peep some pretty spaces, shall we?
McGrath II is a design firm run by mother and daughter Suzanne and Lauren McGrath. One McGrath + Another McGrath = II McGraths. And with that impressive show of mathematics, this post is well underway!
Together, Suzanne and Lauren authored the book Good Bones Great Pieces, which you probably heard about, if you follow those sorts of things. Applied, that design knowledge evidently stands. Their work off-page work is damn lovely it naturally found it its way back on-page, being featured by every stylish magazine that features design work as it has been.
Undoubtedly possessing traditional, polished undertones, their portfolio still manages to come off feeling playful and easy.
See?
Essie should really get in contact with McGraths, two, because clearly what we have above is their newest spring nail polish color range.
Or is it down yonder, where buttercup yellow chairs sit perkily ’round a round marble-topped table?
Those chairs are really a sight to behold, especially sitting opposed those serene whisper-grey walls as they are.
Show me a prettier dining space; just go ahead and try.
Jr. and not Jr. also have a knack for injecting small moments of sweetness, without comprising the feeling of overall sophistication (case in point: the light fixture above).
Like here, again, we have a pink sofa. Now, all pink sofa would be, like, a lot of pink. But the McGraths, they piped that thing in brown. Brown! Are you observing the flavor balance?
Let’s sign you and me up for at least a nap in this dream-space, fingers crossed you’re not a total creep and /or dirty. I’m a respectable cover-sharer, I swear.
Maybe cuddle at first sight is a bit much, but we could certainly share a cup of coffee on this stupidly charming settee. Look at that thing! Like a pinstripe suit with a hint of antique granny.
And lastly, two photos that have circulated widely already, so apologizes and you’re welcome.
1.
And 2.
And that’s a that.
