Spotlight On Kate Marker Interiors
Happiest of Thursdays to you.
(It’s totally about to get happier.)
It took one stumbled-upon pin of Kate Marker Interiors to get me to spend the subsequent too-long-to-really-admit-amount-of-time probing the lady’s portfolio. (Also the pictures were taking a long time to load for me? But I was so devoted to seeing them as large as possible that I waited it out like the pathetic interiors obsessor that I am? I don’t know why that last one was a question?)
Let me tell you about this project: I don’t know anything about it, officially.
Let me tell you how I feel about it: Like I want to move in, and/or hire Marker in a hurry.
It’s a little bit farmhouse, a little bit classic, with maybe just the slightest hint of east-coast summer house.
Please to make yourself familiar with this sitting room.
Neutral palette, soft, oceany blue accents, elegant curtains, i.e. my kryptonite…
Whoever knows where to find a chair that lovely is the one I want sourcing for me.
Built-ins are always winning and floating shelves are always cool enough, but how’s this grey-blue cabinet for a little understated surprise?
The dining area is open and airy, with just enough rustic elements to make the otherwise mostly-white space feel grounded.
But see how those ghost chairs tip the space back in the other direction? Towards glamour, classic-trendy, and it all meets in the middle?
You wouldn’t have to try hard to get me to sit and eat at that banquette.
The laundry room is a thing of pure beauty, in my humble opinion, as is the barn door. (Barn doors are our best friends.)
Man, oh man, Kate–the shiplap walls, the super subtle green cabinetry, and that complimented by a pinky-red runner. Ya done good, Marker–as if I’m any type of authority to decide.
This little workspace is just as good, replete with linen-covered, nailhead-studded pin board and library card drawer pulls as it is.
Upstairs it’s adorably sweet and airy.
Blue and pink rooms like so many tufts of cotton candy, they are.
And then we come to this–is this my dream bedroom? Maybe? How does one tell?
White as far as the eye can see, rustic, exposed beams, striking big poppi navy bed.
I feel like it definitely could be.
Oh wait, ’cause there’s more!
Bedside fireplace: check.
And one to close us out (though I could go on):
Kate Marker, I virtually, but no less sincerely, kiss you.
And all of you, too!
Big, wet, internet kisses! And happy almost-weekends all around.
A. to the T. to the Live Simp-ly.
