Spotlight on Jute Interior Design
Happy Friday cupcakes!
I do hope this slightly abbreviated work week has been kind to you, and to help usher you off into the bliss that is Saturday and Sunday, I give you Jute Interior Design.
“Jute,” as it turns out, is a long and soft yet strong vegetable fiber regaled for its versatility in use. How the design team in question stumbled upon such a natural element when branding their company is beyond me, but perhaps I’m simply unschooled in the world of vegetable fibers. Regardless, call in those fibers for metaphorical purpose the team did, thus advertising their great skill in creating design work which blends seamlessly into their client’s lives.
Led by Alison Davin, Jute’s designs are, in my mind, a most harmonious blend of comfort and style, of practically and lovely.
Let’s take a brief tour, shall we?
To begin- an entryway, most delightful by design. Who might resist the allure of a double-x-ed console table, a stately yet modest white banister, or geometrically-patterned stairs? Not I.
Next, a playroom for the children. To be frank- this space had me at the stripes. Oh the great stripe; my kryptonite. I do believe this room might have held most anything else and I would have been on board based off those stripes. But then they had to go and throw that scrumptious teddy mid-sofa. Not to mention, the browns, the blues- I feel as though I might float away into a beachdome of youthful glory.
Continuing along, you’ll find a quaint desk-spot. The mirror, the chair, it’s working, and of course, the x factor just swings it out of the park.
Jute does sitting room. Please note the subtle mixing of grey and yellow; a most winningest color combo in my book as late.
J.I.D’s take on the powder room. I might have been less inclined to support the golden trellis wallpaper if it were not for the small but pungent blue vase sitting atop the sink. Though it be small, its effect is no less mighty; the contrast here WORKS.
And one last space c/o Jute: the home office. That desk is an obvious winner, let’s start with that. Next we shall point to the delicate yet declarative decorative elements: framed posters, window shade, baskets, lamp, and on.
I don’t know about you all, but those are some veggie fibers I’m tryna get!
Til next time–
– A.T.
