Spotlight on A Good Chick To Know
Last week it was two Caitlins, and this week, two chicks it’s good to know, more officially known as A Good Chick To Know. The benefit of acquaintance, it appears, is that Jennifer Scott and Megan Baker can more than adequately deliver on a variety of fronts, among them: fashion, home decor, prop and roomset, tabletop styling, the list goes on. The style umbrella is the entity under which they can be found, and they hold that accessory up like it’s pouring some kind of crazy rain.
Their aesthetic veers towards the eclectic it should be noted, a design pool I’m most comfortable in ankle deep, max. Yet the good to know chicks never cross over into that place designers sometimes go where they think up the weirdest combinations possible in order to be conversational. Rather, Chicks Scott and Baker seem to have painstakingly foraged for each element used in their portfolio, thus saving their clients from the predicament of possessing spaces that look exactly like everyone else’s. (Because good lord, we all want the same things and like the same things, but let us not all have them lest they be ruined by overkill.) The result is unique, slightly storied, with equal parts mid-century sparseness and ’60’s surprise.
Tell me your thoughts, your hopes and dreams, and your weekend plans.
Mine include clipping my cuticles and I hope yours will include some iteration of Live Simply (do report back).
Thank you, as ever, for reading. You are the paliest of all the pals.
