Toy Storage Bins For The Win

September 26, 2017

It should come as no surprise at this point that I fervently believe that a bin is not a bin is not a bin.

Vessels they all may be, but beyond that, storage containers vary drastically from version to version, with most being conducive to a set of storage circumstances, and all but inept for many others.

A bin that’s positively perfect for containing bathing suits is not usually the same one that’s ideal for storing bottles of shampoo.

All of which is to say that if there were storage vessels that performed the most splendidly as far as corralling the necessities of tiny and small humans were concerned, I’m confident Pehr Designs would be the maker of said bins, and the specific offerings could be perused below.

It’s very hard to pull off unstructured storage well. Too floppy and there’s basically no point. But in the matter of toys, which can vary in size and shape and material, rigid sides can be a downside. They can constrict and limit capacity. Also, if bins or baskets are woven or possess hard plastic corners, they can threaten to wound soft, new-ish person skin.

These are the perfect marriage of structure and soft-sides. Their cotton-canvas material makes them lightweight, and flexible enough to hold weirdly shaped objects, yet they have a heft that makes them capable of holding loads of building blocks. Most come in three sizes, allowing you to further coordinate vessel to contents.

Also, they’re frickin adorable. So there’s that.
