Make Home A Happier Place To Be Just By Using This Color

February 23, 2017

Colors are as subjective as the people who perceive them. One woman’s spirit hue is another’s worst nightmare–isn’t that how the saying goes?

But there is one exception to the rule of colors lacking universal appeal or effect: experts say that yellow is a unilaterally happy color. Across the board, and far more so than any other hue, yellow makes people feel happy.

And since we here at Live Simply believe that home should, in fact, be the happiest place on earth for you (sorry Disney), it behooves us to incorporate a bit of the sunny color into our most highly frequented spaces.

The good news is that yellow is potent, meaning a dab’lldoya. Too much of it, and you risk making yourself seasick on land with sensory overload. But a yellow window frame here, a goldenrod curtain there; a lemon yellow pedant light here, and an egg yolk yellow stool there, and you just might find yourself feeling magically uplifted by your interiors.

Anyhow, it’s worth a shot.

From a personal experience, I agree–
we stayed in this rental in Prague, on vacation w/ our daughter & her family–
we were on sites, trying to decide where to stay–at almost exactly the same time, we
both said– “Oh gosh– this is it!”– the color impact landed it!

Yellow is a winner! You simply can’t go wrong with a splash of yellow to brighten up a room and especially in the kitchen.
