Spotlight On Taylor Jacobson Interior Design

December 3, 2015

Just as one can now be assured that crossing a golden retriever with a poodle will render an irrefutably cute “doodle,” and crossing a lime with a kumquat will give rise, naturally, to a “limequat,” I feel assured I’m now in the possession of the formula which results in a winning interior designer. Well you cross an architect with a ceramic artist is what you do.

Anyhow, as much is true with Taylor Jacobson, whose work reflects both the precision one would expect from an architect, and the occasionally whimsical, always free-flowing/breezy, seemingly emotionally-grounded decisions of an artist.

Let’s get it going.

Spotlight on Taylor Jacobson Interior Design--an entry with blue lacquer console table.

Blue and white are the theme colors to my soul, so the fact that the two are predominant throughout Taylor’s work is, well, why said work is on this blog.

(A blue lacquer console table with a mirror like the sun? Jacobson, you shouldn’t have.)

That combo is equally as apparent in the bedroom below, only the blue gets even richer and I start to wonder why I don’t own a rug that inextricably reminds one of the sea.

If the white plays to the blues above, the deep navy plays to the whites and brights below.

That bedroom is like a breath of fresh air and it doesn’t even have everything to do with the wallpaper.

Speaking of wallpaper, please to notice the print happening in this powder room.

It isn’t one I would ever think to choose, and yet, said and done, isn’t it utterly lovely?

And if you want to see one that’s the epitome of cool and by cool I mean bookworm chic by which, of course, I mean the epitome of cool:

With the powder room putting you in the mood for a read, it only seems right to retire to this library:

There’s a certain lux boho vibe happening in the breakfast nook, and I’m not complaining.

When a piece packs as much of a flavor punch as this guy below does, it earns its keep in my book.

And earning her way further into my heart, Jacobson serves up a slew of easy, light spaces.

And then seals the deal with this moment. White, black, brass, and one of the coolest chairs I’ve seen at that.
