Weekend Assignment: Kitchen Cupboard
In my eternal quest to help you Simplify and get yourselves together (get it together!), today I present unto you a most doable project.
The inspiration or see, it can be done! is a recent client-kitchen-cupboard-overhaul that listen, come on, took under thirty minutes. Probably closer to twenty minutes if I was to guesstimate although organizing is my zen-zone, meaning I’m not exactly watching the minutes tick by waiting for the time to pass.
Regardless of whether you are or not, I promise you can do this in a weekend: edit and organize 1 kitchen cupboard. That’s right, I said 1. Why? Because 1 is better than none. And 1 can have a major impact.
I’m not particular whether it’s a pantry cupboard or a spice cupboard or just one containing your plates. Pick the worst off and make it better, or the best off and make it a show-stopper.
LS RX:
– Take the stuff out, clean the shelves, and edit the contents.
– Discard the expired, stale, and suspicious bits.
– Put it back in better shape than you found it.
LS Recs:
– OXO 10-Piece Good Grips Pop Containers Set (even nicer in Steel)
– Label Once Erasable Food Labels
– Expandable Cabinet Organizer
Snap to it. I expect a full report back. K byeeeee, think you’re great!

Thanks for the reminder. I do this each year before the holidays. It helps me organize for the cooking, baking and various parties and get-togethers that go on. Cleaning out the cupboards lets me know what I have and what I need whether its food items, linens, plates, wrapping paper etc. It supports a stress free holiday time where I’m not running around after last minute things. Great post!

Wow. I just found your site and am so glad I did! I attempted an overhaul of my pantry this weekend and got as far as turning on the light and then turning it off. My spice bottles are driving me crazy. Thanks for giving me so much inspiration!
