Spotlight on Massucco Warner Miller Interior Design And Decoration

January 4, 2013

Congratulations. You survived (nearly) three post-holiday work days. In lieu of a giant gold medal or even one of those blue fabric ribbons, I give you the work of Julie Massucco Kleiner and Melissa Warner Rothblum.

These two were once employed by differing design firms, but decided they were better together, or so the legend goes. Massucco Warner Miller Interior Design and Decoration was born. Now dominating the entirety of the West coast (or anyway the cities that seem to matter most– L.A., San Fran & Seattle), homegirls are tag-teaming a fresh, vibrant approach to design.

Continuing with the tradition of starting at the entry because where else would you have me start, the MWM girls cultivate a refined, coastal vibe. The scalloped edged console table, that ripply-edged mirror, stack of design books and white tulips– that’s been vignette-isized if ever a space was.

But get a load of this breakfast nook. The blue and white is lovely, naturally, and let’s not forgot to mention that tufted action. Tuft me any day, MWM.

Styling, people. Styling. Drink it in and then have another sip.

Make no mention of how many white kitchens this site has played host to. Sometimes repetition is key, get it?

Oh, look, over here- would you care to join me for a mid-morning coffee and chat in this totally charming and serene seating area? Of course I don’t mind if you put your feet up on the ottoman! Just not in those street shoes are you crazy?

Good god. It gets better. Massucco Warner Miller, you really do kill it in the dressing room if I do say so myself.

No less so in the bedroom; the color palette, it’s grand.

Listen we’re almost done and then you can scamper on your way, but I do so enjoy taking a gander at the children’s quarters. Just look at this bedroom meant for the young lady thing. Highlights include: a mix of patterns and colors that manages to be anything but overwhelming while still being entirely effective, a makeshift desk in a closet/alcove, the non-overbearing GIRL-ness. You know what I mean?

This one is so bright it almost hurts my eyes a little bit but in the best way. It’s fresh! It’s classic! It’s positively fantastic!

But if you thought that prior room was color-blocked, just wait until you get a load of this. Orange. Navy. The ultimate in boy-color-block. Plus stripes. Don’t even get me going about stripes.

Although we can’t speak with firsthand knowledge, I believe none of us can argue with the fact that the MWM ladies are better together. But aren’t we all?
