Spotlight on GR (Graciela Rutkowski) Interiors

May 3, 2013

It’s Friday, come again.

GR Interiors. That’s what on the docket for today. GR Interiors is based out of Seattle, WA: point 1. Their work is divine: point 2. That’s three points total which is good enough for Michelin so it’s good enough for me.

Let’s just me stop talking and have it, huh?

We’ll start in the bathroom, because if I had my dithers I would float away to this spot right now and other times too and just… pretend I was at a spa? The dainty chandelier, the fixtures, it’s all so well-appointed.

And equally so in this girl’s room. The stripes are an obvious win in my book, as is the overall intersection of purple and green at play here. Maybe without that lamp you woulda been all, “woww, someone’s a girly girl.” And with it? You can’t mess.

But get ready for green and this time blue in an even louder (though not cacophonous by any means) hue. It’s like a little dose of Ka-pow! in your decor (are we noticing these chandeliers?)

Okay, if the last one was “Ka-pow!” then this one is “take me to the circus and spin me right back around to when I was seven, merci and please.”

And if that knocked your socks off, just wait until you start wondering what on earth is behind these leather-padded, nailhead-detailing doors. The mind, it reels, as one Holly G. would say.

But back to the bath, and this one is exceptionally lovely. What is that a trellis design? Who cares, really, it’s sublime.

And last, a wide open white space with a hearty helping of carefully chosen details (I take a special liking to those chairs).

Let’s just you and me go dine there– a little early supper that will inevitably turn into one of those never ending nights when you find yourself doubting that you’ll ever see the inside of your own home again but also you’re really enjoying yourself, so heck!

In the words of some radio disc jockey who now may or may not be off the air and who my parents were obsessed with for a time, “Stay cool, keep warm, and for goodness sake take care of the ones you love.”
