Simple Systems: Erin of House of Earnest
You know those emboldened bloggers who try their hand at all things, including cooking, entertaining, crafting, and hot glueing dried up Twizzlers around the rim of plates as place settings and about whom you cannot help but think: I can see you are able to Do that Yourself, the quandary remains as to why you would-? Yeah, well Erin of House of Earnest isn’t like that. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to locate another site so filled with such loveliness, and much of it hand-made at that; from 4th of July ice cream pops and magnetic organizers to floral design and picnics in the park, Erin shares do-able entertaining and decor projects, the end results of which are pure style, and the process carefully documented in clear, bright photographs. That will be evident just from Erin’s post here today, her version of a Simple System.♦
I put an armoire which is intended for clothing in my dining room to hold my appliances and extra place settings of dish ware and serve ware.
I love that the drawers are the perfect depth to see everything inside and still hold a ton.
The top part is so open it holds my kitchen aid mixer, crockpot, food processor, and blender – all things that have nowhere to be stashed in my super small kitchen.
I love the piece, so one day when I have a big enough kitchen to hold all of my stuff, I plan on using it as a media cabinet or for linens.
It’s a small solution, but makes my life that much easier to access entertaining pieces quickly!

Great idea! And I have an old antique dresser that I wasn’t sure what to do with (and a tiny kitchen).

That’s great, I have a dresser as my dinning side table to hold linens, pots, and odd ends! 😉
