I can’t tell you the number of times I find my clients trying their darndest to squish things onto shelves that just aren’t situated properly to accomodate the goods.

Staring them in the face are four vertical lines of holes running the length of the shelving unit, along with four pegs holding their shelf in place. The problem is, those shelves have been configured in just such a way for so long that my clients have forgotten the best and most basic aspect about them: they’re adjustable, those shelves!

That’s when I cut in with a “hold on just one moment,” remove the pegs holding said shelves in place, and fit them back in at a more suitable level.  Suddenly everything fits.

“Look at that!” They cry. They’re elated. They jump around and clap their hands. “I didn’t even think to do that!”

And then I smile, curtsey, and, after forty times of this on repeat, take to my laptop to compose the headline: This Just In: Adjustable Shelves Are Adjustable!
