Monthly Mantra: April 2021
I AM HERE TO CULTIVATE, SHARE, AND PROTECT MY POSITIVE ENERGY. I ATTRACT OTHERS WHO ARE ON AN EQUAL FREQUENCY, AND OUR INTERACTIONS CREATE MORE ENERGY FOR BOTH OF US.
Beyond words, beyond body language, energy is what we’re communicating to each other all the time. This energy is our true essence and the quality of our emotional intelligence.
Words are what we hear, body language is what we see, but energy is what we feel. And what we feel is what stays with us. (Maya Angelou had it right; we forget words, but we remember feelings.)
People with engaged, present, and enthusiastic energy make those around them feel good. And it isn’t just in the moment; the impact of good energy lasts.
“Energy” sounds intangible and otherworldly. But good energy is just laughter. Good energy is engagement. Good energy is active attention. Good energy is perspective. Good energy is generosity. Good energy is reciprocation.
I want to cultivate and share positive energy. I want to make other people feel good–better than before they were with me. And I want to spend time with people who do the same. I want my primary interactions to be ones that generate more energy for both of us.
In 2021, I think the definition of success should be working continuously to heal our own energy, while also getting better at distinguishing people who have good energy from people who have lousy energy. The definition of wisdom should be limiting, whenever possible, our dealings with the latter.
You are allowed to be selective about the energy you allow into your life. Doing so isn’t selfish or mean, it’s necessary. Negative, toxic, disconsolate, chaotic, or overly anxious energy chips away at our joy and deflates our momentum.
Energy is far too crucial to be cavalier with. Energy is what you are. Energy is what you draw to you. Energy is how you spend your life feeling.
Feel good. Find every reason you can to feel good. Find others who are doing the same.
