You know what’s impressive? When a person hasn’t really been in the game all that long and is killing the game. Success on the first day is beginner’s luck. High-level work in the first couple of seasons must surely indicate natural prowess.

That’s what I’m calling what Jennifer Barron has going on, anyhow. Begun in 2015, her eponymous design company is based in Houston, Texas, and Jennifer’s work has all the ginger jars and brightly hued orb table lamps. But to label her style as “preppy” would be to massively short sell it.

In fact, while it might take its inspiration from the prep and circumstance of the South-ish, there’s decidedly something more unique happening here. Perhaps that’s down to Jennifer’s ability to choose precisely the right lighting fixtures. Or, maybe its her knowledge of spaces wherein only a storied piece will do. Maybe it’s her ability to practice restraint in the overall effect, while ensuring individual pieces pack just the punch needed.

Whatever it is, my money is that this one’s going for the long haul.
