Hey, it’s June now, did you guys hear?

I know–the time! The calendar! The organizing products! Am I right?

Great, so we’re going to pretend that was an opener and jump in with the items I bought by the bigger-than-me caseload for my clients throughout the month of May.

1. DrawerDecor

I’m sure I mentioned these back in the post about my preferred drawer organizers, in fact I know I did, and I’m including them again here because!

It’s rare that a product is really and truly innovative; these are. They’re some sort of silicone magic is what.

Flat as a couple of post-its, they don’t monopolize any precious drawer space whatsoever, but they do keep everything contained within in place. We’ve done tests, my clients and I; stacks of business cards, scissors, rolls of tape, rolling pins–nothing moves.

2. Akrobins 

I had my first time with these at the beginning of the month. Or was that the beginning of April. March? Point being, I hadn’t used them before I did.

I didn’t want to either! I was all bummed out when I placed the order for my client; they were the only thing that was right for the storage space in question and was the appropriate dimensions, but they looked so…not beautiful, shall we say.

Cut to the client’s entire back-stock department decked out in these, both of us equally as enamored.

What the Akros have going for them: fantastic quality, ridiculously amazing stackability (you’d be suprised how many products claim to be stackable that certainly aren’t that), versatility (by way of optional, adjustable dividers), and a place for labels. They can also be mounted to this wall panel thing but I don’t know about that business.

What once appeared lacking in looks now seems a gift to the eyeballs.

3. Translucent file tote

My client, an interior designer, was desperately in need of some system for keeping current project samples and swatches in one place. A system slightly more presentable than a dogged grocery bag.

So I got her a round of these file totes. They can fold up flat when not in use, but have a bottom panel that keeps them standing up straight when they are in use. This makes them transition seamlessly from drawer to cupboard to on-the-go. They’re wide enough to accommodate a whole array of things, from flimsy fabric swatches to thick and bulky wood flooring samples, but thin enough that my client can slip the whole thing into her work bag. On top of that, they have an inner divided slot, giving her the perfect spot for keeping respective client files.

She emailed me about two hours after I first brought these over.

“Can you pick up five more?”

4. OXO Pop canisters 

Have talked about these nonstop everywhere all the time. Still obsessed. Still insist you get them, too.

5. Hanging files 

You know what I hate? When, after you’ve gone to admirable lengths to organize your papers, you inadvertently land a peanut butter finger on a hanging file, leaving you with a smudge that will probably be around far after the card stock has disintegrated. You know what I mean? You know.

That would be why I adore these hanging files from The Container Store. I don’t know what they’re made of, but it’s durable, unlike their counterparts down the road at Office Max that flop and flap all over the place.

Another bonus: they’re offered in color variations that are appealing to the eyeballs, so that’s monumental.

Economical these are not. But totally superior in all ways–they are.

6. Black soft matte hangers

Is anybody still reading these descriptions? I should probably just write out the lyrics to Lucky by Britney Spears and call it a day.

Someone will be though.

So these hangers are the answer to the following: Annie, I can see why you’re devoutly loyal to the velvet, slim hangers and I love them too. But what about my jackets? My blazers, you know? The shoulders! The shape!

Katchow. These hangers offer the non negotiable non-slip of the skinnies, combined with the broad silhouette of shoulder-shape retention.

7. Pantry bins & 8. Deep drawer bins

Both made by the same brand, these bins are perhaps my very most favorite bins. I’ve used them in probably every project I’ve done the past three months because they are a. that good, b. that versatile, c. that durable, d. that accessible.

Get the pantry bins for shelves of regular depth. Get the deep drawer bins for deep shelves and drawers, regardless of the room. Just get them.
