Antica Farmacista Giveaway!
I really get a kick out of the fact that because the brand partnerships I do around here are (intentionally, not for lack of offers, trust) ruthlessly selective, I feel entirely at ease about the collaborations I do choose to accept. It’s not like you as my readers have to wonder whether it’s diplomatic fine print that still manages to feel quasi BS-y when there have been a total of like, five other brands represented in the blog over the past too many years. Seriously, it’s kind of stupid in some respects that I don’t use this blog as the money-maker it could be. But then that’s a story for another day.
Point being, when I tell you I whole heartedly love Antica Farmacista, there’s a good chance you’ll believe me (you should, I’m totally telling the truth).
Antica makes luxury fragrance products for the home and body, and each one is more lovely than the next. I know this because after the A.F. crew got wind of the fact that I had included their home diffuser in my favorites, they were all, “Hey, mind if we send you some other stuff to try?” To which I replied: duh.
After having sampled the loot, I can happily attest to the fact that their line is completely gorgeous. The smells are delightful, the products are heavenly, and the packaging is on point.
Personally, I have other favorites as far as body care products go; the real stand out for me continues to be their home diffuser range. The scent of these little, yet impressively potent bottles fills a room. And whereas a candle requires lighting and watching and extinguishing, and spray odor eliminators require finger triggering (plus they all smell kind of nauseating), the diffusers just sit there and emit the most lovely fragrance without your having to do anything. It’s the lazy domestic’s dream.
All that to say: I’m pumped to be able to offer one of you a 100ml diffuser and 10oz Body Moisturizer of your fragrance choice (!!)
Here’s what you got to do to win:
Head on over to the fragrances page and find the one that sounds most delicious to you.
Then come back here and leave a comment with your scent choice.
Plus, tell me:
a. The area or room that most needs an injection of good smell in your home and why.
b. Anything about you, including where you live, something making you happy, something to make me laugh (that last one might be more about me. Regardless).
Please include your email address in your comment.
For a bonus entry, follow me on Instagram (@livesimplybyannie) and leave another comment saying you did and including your username.
Giveaway runs until Monday the 13th @ 10:00 PST.
Thanksss bye!
fine print: I really do love this shizz. I received zero compensation for hosting this giveaway. It’s just my way of giving you presents for reading. And hopefully to inject some delightful into your day, if you win and all. k now bye.

O joy! The Lemon, Verbena and Cedar combo hits all my hot buttons: citrus, wood, the lush complex base note that only Vetiver can strike, yum. I make my own organic soaps and moisturizers, so I can smell these essential oils in a happy place inside my head as I look at the photos at AF. And so artfully packaged, as you mentioned. A diffuser in my living room might subdue the pervasive odor of our age’d but beloved Labrador retriever, Burleigh, who sprawls on the rug wherever we are seated so he can be near us (and if the abiding, though malodorous, loyalty and affection of an adored canine does not make you giggle with delight, then heaven help you). Best wishes! DDU

The lemon verbena cedar sounds so fresh! I have been looking for a good diffuser because I do not use
candles or plug-ins. Thank you for introducing us to AF! -
The orange blossom, lilac& jasmine sounds amazing! This would be a lovely addition to my bedroom to aid in decompressing at the end of the day!

Lavender and Lime Blossom sounds like the perfect scent to promote relaxation and restful sleep. DIffusers are the best way to disseminate scents.
We have been hosting out-of-state guests over several different weekends in what we laughingly call our nor-for-profit bed and breakfast. This morning our friends left very early after insisting that they wanted only berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries) and coffee so they could stop in an hour or so for a heartier breakfast to help break up their long drive. So now we are the not-for-profit bed and breakfast that sends guests to McD’s for their breakfast!!

My hypothetical choice would be “warm”. I’m very particular about smells and so many give me a headache…which leads me to a funny story. I’m sitting in church and I cannot endure the smell coming from the little artificial plugin. So I stand, walk, and pull it out of the socket. Amen.

Since it might not be the most responsible choice (and I’m clearly a very responsible adult, clearly) to drink Prosecco all day, I suppose the next best option is for my home to smell like those delicious bubbles.
Living in a studio apartment means the kitchen is basically in my bedroom and the bathroom is essentially in the living room, so, try as I might, the whole dang place could use some scent-ual healing. Ha. Plus, I’ve had a nasty summer cold and haven’t actually smelled anything for weeks! What a lovely return to the land of the smelling this would be.

I love fresh scents! The Lavender Lime Blossom sounds right up my alley. Our living room would be the perfect place for this scent, as our dog is in this room the most (he’s a big ball of love, but also not the most pleasant smelling pup). I love that reed diffusers freshen up rooms and are an alternative to using nasty plug-ins or chemically aerosol sprays.
Funny story, and maybe more of a question for you. The “change filter” light on my (newly installed) range hood has been blinking (AKA YELLING) at me for weeks, and I finally followed the directions and put the darn things in the dishwasher last night. This morning I took them out and they were all tarnished! This is what I get for following directions, I guess. Or for not changing them when it yelled at me the first time. Any thoughts on how to take away the tarnish?

I would love to add the Acqua scent to my guest bathroom to help combat the smells of teenage boy. As for me, I am in the process of downsizing as my children are growing up and leaving the nest. I found your blog about six months ago, and I am happily taking your weekend assignments to tackle areas of my house in my quest to sort through the accumulated stuff of parenting for 20-plus years. So that is what is making me happy. 🙂 As for making you laugh–should I tell you about the ratty t-shirts I actually packed up and took with me from house to house for the last 20 years? (They finally made their way to the trash, BTW.)

Manhattan caught my eye: Satsuma, bergamot and cognac? Sign me up for that! Sounds delicious, like a wonderful tea or toddy.
I live in central NJ with my husband and two children under the age of 5 who are learning to use the bathroom. There is still a diaper pail for now, so clearly we could use some freshened air. All 3 bedrooms and the bath are on the same floor in a not-so-big house, so placing a diffuser in our bedroom or the bath would help freshen the entire area.
Making me happy: my husband and I have reworked the landscaping over the 12 years we have lived in this house, pulling out the old and planting a little here and there. This year everything is in bloom, including Stella D’Oro lilies given to me by my mom, our yuccas (which have cool bell-shaped blooms) which took several years to mature and a peach rose and coordinating daylilies which I planted a year ago. It’s so rewarding to see them thriving.
My kids make me laugh, so maybe this will make you laugh, too. My daughter heard the ice cream truck a while back and got excited about it. She said, “Mommy, we should get some ice cream. That will make Daddy happy.” I told her Daddy wasn’t unhappy, but ice cream is always a good way to get Daddy to smile!

Bergamotto e Aria Di Ocean. Because, seriously, who wouldn’t want to have that scent take you back to all those places you’ve traveled? Especially while gazing at all that travel art that is finally getting framed! You might just have to come over when they are all done and help me finally hang them! It’s been one year since the move-in started and I am proud to say I still spew Annie-isms to all my friends, and well, my no-so friends. And yes, I follow you on instagram – user name is naturally – sassigirll21.

I can’t decide between the Orange Blossom, Lilac, and Jasmine scent or the Pomegranate, Currant, and Blood Orange. I wish the internet did scratch-and-sniff!
As to where to place it, I live in a one-bedroom apartment and the living room (which of course is open to the entry way/dining room/kitchen) would be the best place to diffuse scent through the whole apartment.
It would go beautifully on the console table in my living room by my Mae Chevrette travel/wanderlust prints (seriously, check out her work on Etsy) which make me happy every time I see them.
Thanks for a lovely giveaway!

Oh Annie, there are too many to choose from…but I think the Pomegranate, Currant & Blood Orange may smell delightfully delicious 🙂 As for where I would put it…hmm…probably the one place everybody seems to put them: the bathroom (oh heck, the “powder room” if it makes me sound more fanciful). You know, Annie, I commented once before (I was the long time reader, first time commenter, if that rings a bell) and was quite embarrassed (or not) about how giddy I got to receive a comment from you back; I likened it to receiving affirmations from the domestic gods. Anyway, I have had much luck following your blog. You always kick me into gear and make me realize how much healthier “living simply” is. And I enjoy that. So thank you, Annie. I feel as though I should make a bracelet emblazoned with -WWAD- in order to pay homage to you and all you do. – cheyennecraiglow@yahoo.com

The Lavender and Lime Blossom seems amazing…. The area of my home that most needs freshening is probably the bathroom, where kitty’s box is filled with a super green organic cat solution! and a distinct lack of powdery freshness, no matter how diligent we are. Maybe her super healthy organic food solution is the problem? Oh, well, I’ll take many healthy if stinky years over short-lived chemical freshness, but awesome smelling fancy stuff would be a welcome addition!

Vanilla, Bourbon and Mandarin. This will go into the master bedroom. We are empty nesters and do staycations and changing scents brings a freshness to the everyday use of the room.Actually, there are several scents I want to try so it looks like all of the bedrooms get a new scent make over. And I have found new hostess and birthday gifts too!!
I’m in the DC area and I’m happy, joyful, to be cliched, just cause.
Bra shopping. That’s funny. My friend and I make a date to do this. She of the A-B size and me the DDD, E, F, what you got to fits these ladies size. With tape measure ready, flask in hand, (we toast after we find something that fits) we are always determined to at least 1 that works. The last session we had we came in tiaras with a coffin like box housing our very dead bras and tasked the sales lady to help us bury our love ones by finding replacements. That was a fun, happy day.
-
Dyane, I love the idea that your “staycation” can be changed with fragrance! I do choose different scents on different days, but I think I’m going to be even more mindful of it. Thank you for suggestion of a scent makeover!
You and your bra shopping partner sound like so much fun!

Green Fig sounds delightful! Likely not too floral (for the hubs) and not too fruity, either (I love citrus smells but use them in homemade cleaners for the kitchen/bathroom).
We have a guest room/office that needs some fragrance love. When we moved in late last autumn, this room was an afterthought, and we weren’t really using it. For my birthday, my husband surprised me with the idea we’d give the “office” portion an update: pretty supplies, a more comfortable chair, and a rug for the dog (my late-night writing companion). Since I’m starting grad school soon, I’ll be spending more and more time in there. While updating, I realized we get a lovely breeze… if only the windows weren’t facing the neighbor’s trash bins.
