Unhampered: 9 Sorters To Make Doing Your Laundry Loads Easier

February 21, 2017

Habits and routines naturally vary by person and by family, meaning that few items are necessary across the board. A solution that’s essential for one household may be irrelevant for another.

For a busy family, a sorted hamper is practically a requirement. I prescribe them with a frequency unrivaled by many other organizational elements. Why? It doesn’t matter how devoted one is to the doing of one’s laundry; it’s bound to accumulate at least slightly, whether on the clean or dirty side of the process.

Without a sorted hamper, this means that the laundry ends up piled haphazardly on the floor, on the countertops, in random, mysterious hampers (Is it clean? It is dirty? Are you going to be brave enough to conduct a smell test?).

But a sorted hamper is a system. It’s a place for dirty clothes to land until their respective time arrives to be cleaned. They’re a way for you or anyone else to sort laundry into loads ahead of time, so that doing the washing is as easy as scoop, toss, soap, start.

Martha would totally call that a good thing.

If you don’t own one, you best get one.

Sorted hampers--a MUST for busy households.

1. Heavy-duty 3-bin laundry sorter – A proven winner with multiple clients!

2. 4-section sorter

3. Steele hamper – Steele hampers are undeniably some of the best around.

4. Hand wash/ dry clean

5. Simplehuman laundry sorter – It’s made by Simplehuman, meaning it’s basically guaranteed to be completely stellar.

6. Light and dark laundry sorter

7. x-frame bamboo sorter

8. 3-bag laundry sorter with hanging rack

9. 3-compartment wicker hamper

What would be a good idea for a family of nine? Yep, you read that correctly. Do you hear my laundry woes? I have a couple of them doing their own and heck I have my husband doing his now. The trick to get that underway my friends is to make them wait an eternity to get their clothes back. I think they were tired of trying to find their stuff or going without (like, forever). I just can’t seem to find a system that works for me. Well, I am working on one at the moment…It’s called “getting rid of it”. My biggest slow down though is “give away or throw away”. They wear uniforms. We do not need all of this stuff. It’s not me, it’s the husband’s constant whisper in my ear, “are you sure we won’t need that? I do not want to get rid of it and then you have to go out and buy it.” Anyhoo, I am sure you get me. I am living in laundry hell and I am tired of it defining my existence.
p.s. this is in a joking tone, but it’s all true. 🙂
