The Storage Space You’re Likely Overlooking

April 1, 2015

Here’s a newsflash to blow the popcorn right out of your hump day: surface space is surface space.

It doesn’t matter quite where said space exists, merely that it does. A wall is no less an opportunity for storage than is, say, a door, or a toilet tank. Following in line with the aforeblogged examples is the oft-overlooked but no less potential-ripe side-of-stuff.

The sides of cabinets, kitchen islands, bathroom counters, nightstands, dressers, changing tables–they all have one thing in common and that’s their possible utility. They might not provide as much storage as a closet, but when quarters are constricted an extra few hooks or caddies can be as valuable as gold. (Is gold valuable these days?)

Please to be inspired by the photos which shall proceed.

The genius place to increase storage (that you're probably not even considering as a possibility!)

Did it work? Who’s off to pimp out their sides?

Great idea for dry cooling racks which are so awkward on account of all the holes! Thank you! Also love the picture with the pegboard. I would love to see a post on pegboard accessories. I am having a hard time finding loops big enough to fit a hammer/mallet/ect through.
