If we could build the perfect room from scratch, what would it look like? What features would it contain? Let’s have ourselves a little daydream…

If there’s one thing you nor I need it’s a shower with two shower heads. I mean, really.

For starters, it isn’t that difficult to coordinate a shower-share with one or a couple of other people. At least, it’s not impossible for bathers to try to speed up their cleansing routine for the sake of another. And if you’re the one who has to wait a handful of minutes for your water-closet-partner to finish, it’s really no big deal.

Oh, wait, it is? There have been many times in your life where having to share a shower with one shower head has massively inconvenienced you?? When you’ve had fleeting moments of Psycho rage at discovering that other person who hangs around your house has chosen to occupy the shower at the exact moment when you truly need it NOW?! When you’re drowning in a puddle of your own sweat from the gym? Or, when your punctuality hangs in the balance of around three minutes??

(Me either. Huh-uh.)

I stayed at a gorgeous hotel in Greece that came equipped with a fabulously spacious shower and dual shower heads, though, and I thought to myself, “Well, isn’t this is the nicest, least necessary thing.”

Showering side by side suddenly becomes something more akin to having the shower to oneself.

Almost, very nearly late for your dinner plans, and both need to un-dirty-ify yourselves? Not a problem, since you get a shower head, and you get a shower head! (Not everyone wants a cuddle while they’re trying to properly cleanse their face–skincare is a very serious matter, after all.)

Meanwhile, showering by oneself offers a fun game of run back and forth between the water spouts because you can! (I’ve never wasted water in my life.)

In conclusion, we certainly don’t need dual shower heads. More body wash, sure; we’re always running out of that. A clean bathmat? 100%. But a shower that provides double the functioning any of us need? I’m surprised you’d even suggest it.

Shameful, really.
