Spotlight on Summer Thornton Design

November 30, 2012

Today’s post is a lesson in not making assumptions of others based on their name. Case in point: Summer Thornton. You might immediately think to classify the name among the Sweet Valley High crew, and you might be right to do so. But what you might not also realize is that lady can design. Who said Sweet Valley alumna never had larger aspirations?

So, Summer. Not only the most favorable season for all of our appearances (you can’t argue with the fact that everyone looks better with a tan- you just can’t) but for interiors as well, it seems.

Summer Thornton paints a peaceful scene in the bathroom below. The white tub framed by the window– that wins.

Next, Summer graciously extends her welcome to the dressing room. Oh, please, do take a seat on my mauve sofa while I select a pair of shoes.

What’s that you say? You wish to see another angle? Why certainly, dear.

Next up, Thornton, S. graduates to the living room. Slightly eclectic, just verging on contemporary, and grounded ever so slightly in traditional. It’s like the best of all design aesthetics in one.

But do follow me and Summer T. into the bedroom, won’t you? I imagine before you collapse into that throne of a bed you’ll want to while away a few hours on the sofa seen below. Read a magazine while you’re at it. File your nails. The world is your oyster or at least your bedroom is the color of one and I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t pretend the palette doesn’t extends to the larger universe.

And here, a close up of what was only previously a peek. Just try to handle that bed frame, I dare you. I second thought, I don’t. You won’t succeed.

Lastly, before we bid farewell to Summer, a last stop at this eating nook. Chairs and settee. It’s a killer combo I tell you.

And with that, I leave you. Parting thoughts: 1. Always remember to request the “signature required” option for shipping if you’re worried you’ll be out of town upon delivery, 2. Your kitchen just drawer contains less than 5 items worth keeping, and 3. Dark chocolate peanut butter cups are da BOMB.
