Spotlight On A Notting Hill Mews House

November 13, 2014

Welcome to Thursday on Live Simply.

Today, a space that stopped me in my tracks and caused me to proclaim, “Well, that’s utterly charming, isn’t it?”

The 3-story mews house was designed Fossey Arora and is currently being sold by Domus Nova, should anyone care to purchase post-post.

Let’s begin in the kitchen, shall we? Painted a stupidly spot-on shade of minty blue, it’s a little bit throw-back, a little bit right on trend.

And basically, I mean, can we take a moment to notice what’s happening on the left of this photo? Presumably they’re the steps to the rooftop deck.

A totally charming Notting Hill mews house

As if the mint-kitchen wasn’t enough, the banquette just across the way features a wall painted a lovely, soft shade of pink. Because they really wanted to just shut us up. Oh! And then of course there’s the toile-papered stairway.

The toile-papered stairway with skylights, Edison bulbs and bamboo railings, that is.

Lest you think that pink was a sign of all the space had to offer in terms of flavor, I give you the master wardrobe/bath.

Total class and a bit of drama: custom navy wardrobes and a copper bathtub.

Eat your heart out. Which is a truly questionable phrase it occurs to me now that I’ve typed it out.

But truly, what all good copper tubs are made of.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the stairs…

There’s this space, one which happens to look good from every single angle, as it turns out.

See what I mean there?

Dig this rad-action as well:

Love this idea--map wallpaper!

Map-paper. Let’s all get us some of that. Plus velvet headboard in royal purple and the most wondrously white sheets.

And the humble downstairs bath.

I, for one, would very much like to know which of you is making an offer.
