Spotlight On A Whole Mess O’ People (Inc.?)

March 8, 2013

This week, rather than showcasing many designs by one, I’m featuring one design by many. I have to keep you on your toes. Someone’s got to.

Here, then, are designs I’ve been fawning over:

Point 1. These home offices (“home offices”). The first design is technically classified as such, and far be it from me to suggest that the abundant presence of shoes, glass encased wardrobe and vanity denote more “dressing room” than anything else.

Point the second. These entryway/ mudroom storage systems. The cubbies naturally score points, while some also earn gold stars for coat hooks, and others get a nod for the inclusion of seating option. Winners, really, all.

Next up, it’s these boldly toned kitchen and pantry storage areas. But my, how that white china just positively pops against that- what would we call it, heather? sage?- green.

Oh golly, it’s getting so good. Just you buckle in for this one.

Portrait of the Breakfast Nook In Early Morning Light. I swear, if I could I would dish it up and serve you a big old piece with some Agave drizzled on top for good measure I would.

Let’s move to the bedroom now, where you’ll see a hodge-podge of trends and a somewhat purposeful presence of darker hues for the sake of LISTEN GUYS I CAN LIKE COLOR, TOO (does black count?).

I recently painted a wooden box in a chevron pattern. The designer of the room down yonder did me one better by painting an entire wall. But taken as one, they’re to be understood as fresh and light, soft yet not quite to the point of romantic, and feminine without being fussy.

Now it’s onward in the tour and backward in the age bracket; rooms for a girl, that’s what these are. Admittedly, I appreciate the subtle peach walls just slightly more than the overt baby pink because I don’t believe in boxing (that’s the parenting philosophy not the sport, though some might argue those are one in the same).

Followed by the counterpoint: rooms for a boy. Some of these are just so sweet–and remind me to investigate this whole blue and pink thing more thoroughly.

The best for last might not be a such a stretch.

Behold, a magnificently designed and organized closet. I just about had heart palpitations when I ran across this one, it’s that good. It’s sort of reminds me of mecca, you know?

Okay, that wraps it up, although you should know there were about 500 other pictures I ought to have included as well. For another day–

Be sweet and kind and Simple and whatever you do, don’t forget that you’re special to someone and also that everyone in the whole world just wants to be seen and understood. And dark chocolate may the answer to most of life’s questions.

Have a great weekend bye!

there is so much gorgeous inspiration, i don’t know where to start. ok, i lied – i lovelove that lauren liess room. i need to do something like that to one of the walls in our bedroom. it’s kinda like walking into a cloud, which is nice, but a little bright. i like the idea of doing a moody, but soothing color. also, i have to say, that open shelving makes me anxious. i feel like i would get anxiety about things not being perfectly aligned when it’s out in the open. how do people do it? i mean, are the men just not allowed to touch things? because mine just stuffs things where it’ll fit.
