This year there were times when you felt like ever This year there were times when you felt like every person and situation was an attempt to enrage you and make you take to your bed. But love the life you’re lucky enough to live anyway.

This year, people let you down. They acted carelessly, were senselessly apathetic, and grossly narcissistic. But love them anyway, not for them but for you (holding hot anger burns your spirit to a crispy fossil).

This year your family drove you crazy in all the ways they uniquely do. There were times when you wanted to shake them, yelling, "Stop being so you!" Love them anyway; they are your roots and your mirror.

This year, you missed untold opportunities for carrying out small kindnesses, and you’ve still barely begun to do enough for those with less privilege than you.

You've disappointed yourself in a myriad of ways. You've picked your skin even though you promised yourself you were done with that. You went back to your ex even though you knew better. You made questionable decisions about your health.

You told yourself you were too tired to call your mom on a few occasions, and there are a dozen people that come to mind that you wish you’d sent flowers to. Or at least a card.

This year, there were times when you let fear be the driver. But love even your fear anyway. Because it isn't really there to hurt you, but to protect you. And you can't fault it for not knowing when to quit.

You've told yourself absurd lies you didn't even somewhat believe and elaborate delusions you did believe, and you are still not perfect.

Love yourself anyway. You’re better than you were before, anyway, and getting better every moment. And tomorrow, who knows...

Love anyway because loving is less exhausting than fault-finding, more empowering than judging, and more fun than criticizing.

In spite of the imperfections. In spite of the contrast. In spite of the suffering. In spite of the questions you don't yet have answers to, and in spite of the goals you haven’t even begun to achieve. Society is redeemable. People are adaptable. Situations are salvageable. The world is good enough to love. You are good enough to love.

Your supplies are only as useful as your level of Your supplies are only as useful as your level of organization lets them be.
.
Take a whole aisle-worth of office supplies—pens and staplers and clips and file tabs and Manila folders—dump them into a giant pile in the middle of the room (or, you know, spread them amongst a couple of cabinets at random) and you’ll find yourself the un-proud owner of a stellar I Spy photoshoot. But as for owning a bevy of functional items that enable your work life? That you most certainly will not have.
.
And while you may become an expert of picking off items from the top layer likes flees from a fur coat, you’ll soon begin to wonder: what happened to those mailing envelopes you bought that one time? Why can’t you ever seem to be able to produce a postage stamp from the mess? What lies beneath??
.
And those questions will simmer on low for x number of years, leading to underlying feelings of instability and chaos that spread from those cabinets to every corner of your life, until one day you reach your breaking point and decide ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WHAT’S THE POINT OF IT ALL IF I CAN’T FIND A FREAKING ADHESIVE PAGE FLAG WHEN I NEED ONE?
.
So, it appears your supplies are only as useful as your level of organization lets them be, and your level of organization is a wonderful barometer of your sanity.

This year, we’ve been fortunate to have so many incredible clients come to the conclusion that that state of their homes is integral to their overall well-being. They’ve realized that when the world is at its most chaotic, disorder at home is unacceptable. Home has to be the place that makes sense, it has to have systems that work, it has to be a sanctuary. Doesn’t matter how big or small. Doesn’t matter what kind of storage space there is. Your corner of the world is the one you control, and the one most capable of nurturing you.
