Live Simply All-Star: Tackle Boxes

September 5, 2012

Tackle boxes are traditionally intended for baits and hooks and listen I have a severe fish phobia so I really can’t go into what they’re meant to be used for. What I can discuss is the many other ways they’re useful.

Though not particularly plush, a tackle box can serve as a totally adequate dwelling place for the likes of your most opulent bijou- if not a permanent residence, than at least whilst traveling.

The T.B. was perhaps truly designed not for under-sea-creature-catching-accoutrements, but for crafting supplies!

Beads:

Thread:

Paper scraps:

Even a full-on sewing kit!

Your tackle box may also house things like batteries:

Or assorted snack foods!

One especially enterprising woman went so far as to create a whole series of tackle box travel kits! Just look at the goodies she brought with her.

You’d want her on your road trip– belee-dat!

(Or maybe not cause maybe she’s one of those super annoying really crafty ladies who’s way too overly excited about things like pipe cleaners and the peppiness would eventually start to drive you absolutely bonkers until you began considering things like strangulation, magical ejecting car seats, and throwing her dumb tackle boxes out the window and into oncoming traffic. What?)

In conclusion: a tackle box, my friends, is a box. With compartments. As such, it works wonders for keeping any nature of small objects sorted. The end.

Leave a comment and let me know what you’d use you tackle box for, and don’t forget the ! cause that’s the thing to do today.

I love this post! and I think you have a wonderful blog – but seeing my tackle box photo on your blog makes me wonder how many of these were your actual designs – please give photo credit when using someone else’s photo and ideas. Just link the photo on your blog to the original photo and put a byline under the photo and link that text as well.Thank you! And btw the tackle box I designed is specifically for practice in cutting with a scissors – not just for paper scraps.

Guess I commented a bit to quick – I was looking over your post one more time and saw the photo credits at the end of the post. Thank you for posting the credits – but I still think posting the credits with the photos is more appropriate. Nevertheless I am going to enjoy searching through your site. You have some great organizational tips!

        Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for the comment. I always include photo attributions at the bottom of every post, in the order that the photos appear, as I did with yours. I also updated your photo so that it links directly to your page. If you’d rather I remove it from the post just let me know, I’ll happily comply. Just liked the image obviously!

Thanks for your reply. I’m sorry, I panicked a bit at first, but I am actually honored that you chose my design to feature on your blog for your All Star: Tackle Boxes. Please leave the photo on your blog and I have pinned your post to my Livable Learning Pinterest to lead back to you as well. You are a woman after my own heart. After all my desire for organization is what led me to Montessori education and all that I do…
