Cubbies: The Ultimate Way To Corral Children’s Toys

October 18, 2012

As if I haven’t proclaimed my love for them on high enough– cubbies are most excellent in the arena of toy storage. Even those of you without any wee babes of your own can recognize the great brilliance of storing playthings in such a way, non?

Why toys and cubbies you ask? Well, if you insist on having a magician reveal her tricks, it’s because cubbies are ultra conducive to other containers like bins and baskets; bins and baskets are brilliant for corralling lots of pint-sized plastic and otherwise objects.

And why are baskets and bins so wonderful for keeping toys in? Because shhh: you don’t actually have to do much organizing to make the system work. Sure, you may loosely keep one toy category to a bin, but other than that, you just throw them in. A major plus, I would say, both for young children just learning the whole clean-up game, and totally exhausted parents who want their home clean but are too tired to really give that much of a shit.

You can also forgo the added bins for cubbies containing things like books, as seen below. Again, I must tout the beauty of the cubby– that being, the choice is YOURS. Ah, free will. You add those baskets where you see fit and no where else.

What’s your verdict on the matter?

haha your comments never fail to make me laugh. Sincerely regretting not somehow punning w/ chubbies. Let’s pretend I did. You read it right! Ha!
And yes, love the idea of making sure children can actually reach toys so that they can play and replace.
