If we could build the perfect room from scratch, what would it look like? What features would it contain? Let’s have ourselves a little daydream…

When you spend every day of your life putting objects into cabinetry, your mind can’t help but to wander over into the realm of cabinetry customization. As a result, there are dozens (I’ve never counted) of posts around here dedicated to the ingenious ways one might trick out one’s cabinetry, and, in particular, one’s kitchen cabinetry.

When I stumble on a new-to-me customization option, I feel it’s my duty to get the word out there–family: THIS EXISTS. And it might just change your life. No promises. But possibilities, oh but the possibilities they do abound.

Today’s installment of THIS EXISTS (SHOCK FACE) is a kitchen feature called “The Cabinet Plus.” “The Cabinet Plus” is a most apt moniker, seeing as how the design gives you cabinet space PLUS a magically appearing (at the touch of a button) pull-down storage section.

You want to know what’s so stupidly brilliant I can hardly stand it about this system? It gives you all the accessibility that you might have were you to just keep all of the things out of the counter, but whisks said things out of sight.

And you want to know the real kicker? You’ll have no choice but to actually keep the counter tops cleared in order to summon the magical storage portal.

So, to recap: more especially accessible storage, less stuff out on the counter. More magic tricks, less I had no say in the design and build of this.

Okay…I’m holding my breath. What do you think??
