Spotlight On Meghan Carter Design Inc.

January 29, 2015

Welcome to Thursday on Live Simply. And if that wasn’t the lamest broadcast intro I’ve ever typed, then…I forgot where I was going with that sentence mid-way through. No matter, for today we have the work of Meghan Carter Design Inc to swiftly (fingers crossed) distract you.

A Toronto designer, lady Carter’s work caught my eye because of its supreme understated elegance–that mixed with just a drop of punchy. One drop’ll do you.

Let’s begin with this living room area, the contents of which I would happily integrate into my own. Thank you, the sofa and throw pillows. Thank you, the rustic coffee table. Thank you, the pop of gold, despite the fact that the queen of internets and designs has deemed poufs a thing of the past. Personally, I’m far from offended.

Framed art, bright colored lamps, dusty rose sofa, rustic wood coffee table, and gold pouf.

Next, a shade of grey walls just moody enough to lend an air of melancholy into an otherwise bright, white space.

Next, Meghan Carter illustrates the effectiveness of a vintage, framed map. Let’s go get one of those this weekend, k?

While below, a wall of white wardrobe benefits from the gussied up cheetah print cushion. (Cheetah? Leopard? Cut to Google search.)

If you’ve ever ogled a marble countertop or phone case, you’re likely, as me, to find this next Carter nothing short of freaking fantastic. Just take that thing in, would you?

It bears a striking resemblance to the bathroom in that most luxurious hotel you ever stayed at, doesn’t it?

Below, following a shower I would move into, a sitting area I would certainly read books in.

Don’t discount the many elements at play down yonder, including: checkerboard flooring, yellow-papered entry, strategically placed gold mirror.

As for color in this bedroom, Carter offers up a headboard in the most perfect shade of durty-pink (that’s dusty and dirty).

And lastly, a set up that easily conjures up the image of Meryl Streep and a crew of girlfriends giggling over pie and wine–which is like, a really good thing.

Thanks for playing! And hey? Be good people, okay?
