Spotlight on Geremia Design

May 31, 2013

Friday, hey!

K, anyway, Geremia Design. Ms. Principal is Lauren Geremia, whose curriculum vitae may make you vomit out of jealousy (BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, hotshot San Fran designer of commercial, residential, and event spaces, custom furniture creator, recently named a “30 Under 30” by Forbes Magazine, ETC) but whose designs will invariably win you back, although I think the vomit, once expelled, won’t easily be recoverable, so no luck there.

Lauren’s got this whole modern-ish thing happening that I’m drawn to. It’s just enough modern that liking her work makes me feel cool and cutting edge, though it in no way departs into the land of modern-overboard, where chairs are often taken for tables, tables for gargantuan metal arm cuffs, and lamps for anything including seven-month old cracking play dough globules and alien spaceships.

Right, so Lauren. Here’s her take on the living room. Some might have just chosen a sofa. Not Geremia. She was all, “Make it span the window! Tufted! Impossible to resist!”

A similar invitation to sit is evident below. A perfectly charming little eating spot, made that bit cooler by way of light fixture.

And the kitchen in which it belongs is sublime, naturally. It’s declaration time: throw in some white subway tile and I can be convinced of almost anything!

Next, scope this rad dining room. Lots of windows, lovely curtains, and then there’s that ethereal orb of light that just might trick you into thinking it is the sun. Moon?

We’re moving slowly today due to my inability to zip it, but also, that’s kinda why you like me? Maybe? Whatever, I love this sofa. I would elephant sit so hard on that thing (my mother’s term for unladylike descent onto seating– you know what she means).

If I would do anything for white subway tile, I might trade lots of my toes for organized closets.

This feels to me the most modern of the bunch, but still, you know? Nice.

Almost through.

An orderly, just barely rustic-y workspace:

And a bedroom that’s super refined until that kaboom!

Yeah, that one.

That’s all I got and I barely know what that was but I am certain of the fact that I love this blog thing with all my heart and I would very much like to wrap you all in giant bear hugs for reading. You really are such pals.
