One Space Spotlight: Dreamy Pantry In A Bridgehampton Home By Steven Gambrel

October 6, 2016

Sometimes, just one space will do you.

Case in point: an expansive butler’s pantry that’s packed to the gills with storage designed by Steven Gambrel, and recently featured in Architectural Digest.

Feast your eyes on a butler's pantry from inside the Bridgehampton home designed by Steven Gambrel

You butter believe I zeroed in on this image like the storage junkie that I am.

Nevermind the fact that I’d likely try talking the owner of said pantry into donating about half the contents within if ever given the chance. Today, we shall be content to observe from afar, without worrying about the real-life ramifications. It’s Thursday, day of irresponsibility. (?)

Today, we shall be happy to note the richly storied feel of the space, and how the hardware has the power to provide such warmth.

We’ll acknowledge with awe the fact that one might own so many beautiful, presentable kitchen-things as to happily have them sit out in plain sight, open shelving run amock. And, we’ll admit that the height of the shelves is nothing but functional, what with that most fabulous rolling ladder. You add that white oak beauty, and it’s like a ceramics library. Like a haven for plates and silver serveware, the card catalogue for which is likely right outside the grey-blue door.

Who wants a ladder ride on me? You think the world looks different from up there?

And more importantly: what do you think the inside of those drawers look like??
