Spotlight on A Hamptons Beach House, Rikki Snyder Photography

July 26, 2013

It’s summer, so I feel it’s not only acceptable but also sort of my duty to bombard your eyeballs with designs that accordingly revolve around the beach. Last week we went coastal sophisticated via Tim Clarke, but this week we shall try our hands at a summer home–so quintessentially Hamptons heaven–that you may spontaneously combust due to the sheer bliss of it all.

There will be white: umbrellas, lounge chairs, and lord have mercy a kitchen the likes of which you’ve never seen. There will be wood shingles, and hydrangeas and sculpted wire pineapples. And it’s all brought to us by the genius eye of photographer Rikki Snyder. Prepare yourself.

We’ll start in the back, because the few seldom times the teacher decided to reverse the alphabetical order, the kid with the last name Zaronovich had his day made.

A patio fit for Hampton’s elite, replete with dining tables and those white umbrellas, an outdoor bar, tennis courts, and naturally, a pool.

But if what you desire is a seating place more comfortable than wicker, more structured than a chaise, then perhaps this delightful corner will do it for you. Options, people.

I love the way this porch is set against that lush green background and then accented with leaves in every corner, as if to convince the eye that this isn’t an artificially constructed gathering place, but a section of rainforest oasis that you might have stumbled upon quite by accident, in which the fertile soil has chanced to grow the nicest furniture the gorillas have ever had occasion to plunk their little pink buns on.

Oh, fine, Goldilocks. How’s this for a third seating candidate?

If that doesn’t suit you I’ll offer you the inside, but after that you’re outa luck.

Things in here are supremely serene.

And this kitchen, really. If you’ve been reading this blog for even a few weeks you’ll know this is just about enough to throw me into some catatonic state.

Just, be a dear and wipe the spittle from my mouth, would you please?

At some points you may find yourself in need of a white detox, during which time you will repair to the den, draw the shades and meditate on how dang stupidly great life is.

And to close, the front.

Catch ya on the flip-side.

Wow I wonder if all the hydrangeas in the vases are grown there? I was like love the all white and then that great dark wood paneled room poppped out! Beautiful. I did a post on a Hamptons house too.
